Memorial Day Nintendo Switch deals 2023 still live: save on consoles, games, and more

Everyone loves Nintendo. What everyone doesn’t love is how Nintendo products hold their price for years at a time. That’s why Memorial Day Nintendo Switch deals provide one of few opportunities throughout the year to take home a Switch, new games, and/or accessories for less.

Whether you’re wanting to jump into the world of Super Mario following the success of the movie, are ready to adventure into Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda, or paint the town red in Splatoon, Memorial Day 2023 is still offering discounts that any fan of the Japanese games maker should take advantage.

Over the last few months, we’ve finally been seeing Nintendo products drop in price – something that rarely happens, if you know anything about how the company operates. If it wasn’t the Nintendo Switch OLED hitting 309.99 for the first time since launch, it was the plethora of Mario Day deals making their way across the web to celebrate the plumber’s anniversary. We’re also generally seeing better offers across the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch OLED.

Considering that Black Friday and Cyber Monday weren’t the greatest in comparison to previous years for Nintendo products, we’re hoping that Memorial Day will make up for what was lacking with some truly winning Nintendo Switch and bundles. It’s also arriving hot off the heels of Tears of the Kingdom, providing a good opportunity to get a console/upgrade and pick up the new Zelda.

When do Memorial Day Nintendo Switch deals start?

While Memorial Day itself is taking place on Monday, May 29th, 2023, we will be expecting deals to pop up a few days beforehand. The best bet is that the weekend preceding will see Nintendo Switch deals go live, so that’s Saturday, May 27th, and Sunday, May 28th.

Anyone on the hunt for a new console should be keeping their eye firmly planted on any and all Nintendo Switch OLED stock, though those looking for pure value may also find success in bundle deals on the standard edition as well.

If you’re on the hunt for a new batch of games, though, we’d recommend watching The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Bayonetta 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Splatoon 3, Advance Wars 12 Re-Boot Camp and Pokemon Scarlett/Violet. We’d also expect Breath of the Wild, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and several other classic titles to receive discounts.

What retailers will be best for Memorial Day Nintendo Switch deals 2023?

The likes of Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart are all strong bets for the best Nintendo Switch discounts. Amazon often offers great discounts on consoles and software with its subsidiary, Woot, also putting up a limited number of stock at record-low prices.

Nintendo itself is known for offering limited-time holiday deals, usually putting up one specific bundle – just like the Mario Day bundle – and will likely do so again. It also typically slashes the price of numerous of its first-party titles by 20% to 30%. Digital downloads are also another way to go, often being cheaper than physical copies.

When will Memorial Day Nintendo Switch deals end?

Memorial Day Nintendo Switch deals officially close at midnight on Monday, May 29th, 2023. That said, we often see retailers padding out their offerings with some even running through until the Wednesday (May 31st) after the event itself. Basically, if you see a deal you want, we recommend not hanging about with good deals likely to be snapped up before they expire.

What to expect from Memorial Day Nintendo Switch deals 2023?

Memorial Day 2023 will hopefully provide plenty of opportunities to save some cash on Nintendo Switch hardware and software. While we wouldn’t expect the console to be reduced by half-price (this is Nintendo, after all), the holiday will still offer up some savings for anyone that has been holding off on picking up the Nintendo machine, or making an upgrade to the Nintendo Switch OLED.

Speaking of which, we’re hoping to see the OLED dropping from its 349.99 price tag to 300 or even below. The previous record was set by Woot (Amazon) earlier this year at 309.99. At least, we’d like to see some more Switch OLED bundles that will help you save on some of the latest games. Mario Rabbids, Splatoon 3, and Pokémon Scarlet/Violet are likely candidates.

One of the cheapest and most likely ways to get into the Switch ecosystem will be to pick up a Nintendo Switch Lite. The handheld-only device usually retails for 199 but we’ve seen it drop to below 150 as of late, and Memorial Day might even push into the 100 mark on some occasions. If you see that deal, get it fast! Stores will only put up a limited amount of stock, and these will be snapped up fast. if history is anything to go by.

With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom now launched and The Super Mario Bros. Movie taking the world by storm, we expect Nintendo’s two biggest mascots to be heading up the bulk of sales. The Tears of the Kingdom Switch bundle will be a hot product with games like Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe all likely to receive discounts too. We’ll particularly be keeping an eye on Zelda considering its 70 discount.

Whatever the case, if you’ve been wanting to pick up a console, a new Switch game or accessory Memorial Day 2023 will be the best time to until Black Friday later this year.
