How to Clean the Lid of a Redmond Multicooker Inside

How to Clean a Multicooker

The multicooker has become a lifesaver for modern housewives. You can cook a lot of tasty, juicy dishes with a minimum of effort and time. At the same time, just like most kitchen appliances, it requires gentle care and regular cleaning. Consider how to clean your multicooker quickly and easily.

  • Let the multicooker cool down. Do not wash a hot appliance, the temperature difference can spoil the coating.
  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
  • Remove all removable parts: bowl, lid, steam valve, moisture trap.
  • Prepare detergent. The multicooker can be cleaned only with liquid cleaners and a soft washcloth, wipe with a microfiber cloth. To clean the grease and carbon deposits and remove unpleasant odors, you can use baking soda.

Bowl is the main element in which the actual cooking takes place. Many people mistakenly think that it should be washed like ordinary kitchen utensils. But it is far from it. Most manufacturers coat their pans with non-stick coatings which are not suitable for normal dish cleaning. Do not use a dishwasher, but a gentle hand wash.

To clean the bowl of the multicooker, you can use a liquid foaming agent and a soft sponge. Take out the removable element, soak it and wash gently with a sponge and detergent, do not rub, the dirt should come off the walls easily. If there are burnt food residues, don’t rub, or you’ll scratch the nonstick coating and your multicooker will burn regularly. It is easy to remove the contamination in the following way:

If this does not help, you can prepare a porridge of baking soda and water, spread it on the walls of the bowl of the multicooker and leave it for half an hour. This is a simple cleaner, confidently competing with expensive products. Even heavy soot can be removed with baking soda.

How to clean your multicooker inside and out: cleaning the lid and bowl

How to wash a multicooker with a non-removable lid? Such models must also be treated every time after cooking.

My humble experience with the Redmond multicooker will hopefully help you better understand how to clean the inside of the multicooker without damaging its surface.

Pre-cleaning of the multicooker

The initial cleaning of the device is carried out immediately after unpacking it.

Take a soft cloth with warm water, a neutral detergent and wipe the internal surfaces. Further, the multicooker is cleaned and washed after each use.

So, the cookware is completely cooled, freed from the remains of food and be sure to unplug the cord from the socket.

Be careful to remove removable parts that need to be cleaned, which are:

A word of advice: The parts of the multicooker will cool down faster if you disassemble the appliance immediately after use. Never put them in the freezer to cool quickly.

Cleaning the bowl and bottom of the multicooker from burnt food

This element is removable, covered with non-stick or ceramic composition, which can be easily damaged. How to wash the inside of your multicooker so it lasts as long as possible and the food doesn’t burn?

Wash the bowl of the multicooker and the bottom with care. Pay attention to products that have no harmful effects, do not use hard sponges and metal brushes to avoid damaging the surface.

Clean the bowl with a soft cloth, wiping both the inner layer and the outer part, which is adjacent to the heating element. After cleaning the bowl, wipe it dry to prevent the occurrence of mold.

Removing grease from the multicooker

To remove greasy food residue from the Teflon pan, follow these recommendations:

  • Use only soft cloths and cloths in tandem with neutral gel or kitchen liquid soap;
  • Avoid scratches so as not to ruin the multicooker;
  • Do not use hot and cold water at the same time;
  • To remove unpleasant odors, when rinsing the bowl, add a few drops of lemon juice to the water;
  • Two or three times a month, boil a slice of lemon for 10 minutes with the “Steam” function on to prevent limescale buildup.

Consider further how to clean the multicooker from grease on the ceramic coating.

  • Carefully remove the remains of food from the bowl, try not to make sudden movements, which can lead to chipping and cracking;
  • forget about the dishwasher, you can wash by hand with agents without acids and alkalis;
  • Clean the grooved base with a soft sponge;
  • When cooking, it is not uncommon for food particles to get into the oven interior.

Cleaning the steam valve and the steam trap

Steam valve’s main function is steam exhaust. Periodically rinse it under water. Keep the valve openings clean so that milk and porridge do not escape.

Choose detergents

In the process of cooking, often in the inner space of the electrical appliance fall into different food particles. Some housewives, in a hurry to prepare lunch or dinner, violate the rules of food stacking sequence in the multicooker: place the products in the bowl without first taking it out.

This rough handling will contaminate the contacts of the appliance and cause it to malfunction. To prevent such problems, the multicooker should be cleaned regularly.

To clean the unit is not allowed to use hard sponges and abrasive detergents, because they can easily damage the internal and external parts of the device.

The best way to remove dirt from the surfaces of the appliance are mild chemicals and household remedies.

Household

  • Zumman multicooker care kit. the set of the German preparation includes a liquid cleaner, wet wipes with different degrees of pile hardness on the front and back sides. Using wipes you can quickly and effectively remove dirt from any surface of the device, in case of significant accumulation of plaque on the elements of the unit, use the product in the form of a liquid.
  • Top House. gel, intended for care of household appliances, used for cooking and cookware with non-stick coating. To remove grease stains from the multicooker, apply a small amount of gel to a sponge, lather it up and treat contaminated surfaces, then remove the remnants with a damp cloth and rinse the appliance.
  • Sanita “1 minute” spray is a domestic product that effectively removes stubborn grease deposits, suitable for cleaning different types of surfaces. After spraying the product on soiled areas, wait 1-2 minutes and wipe the treated areas with a damp cloth, then rinse with water.

Folk

In some cases, the use of household chemicals is not suitable for the care of an electric appliance: for example, a person has an allergic reaction when in contact with a certain product.

After using ready to use preparations for cleaning surfaces that will then come into contact with food, the treated containers should be washed several times in clean water. If the rinsing procedure is not done thoroughly, residual chemical particles may have a negative effect on the living organism.

Citric acid perfectly cleans the microwave from grease.

Cleaning the appliance using folk methods. an alternative option for removing dirt from the elements of the multicooker.

It should be said that most of the improvised means has no less cleaning effect than special preparations:

  • Pour 25 grams of citric acid into 200 ml of warm water, stir the components;
  • Pour the solution into the bowl of the electric device and turn on steam cooking mode for 15 minutes, then drain the liquid, rinse the reservoir, and wipe it dry.

Lemon can help you get rid of plaque and remove the bad smell: pour a glass of water into a bowl and place half a citrus fruit in it. As in the case of citric acid, turn on the device in the steam mode for a quarter of an hour. After that time, drain the liquid, rinse the reservoir in running water, and dry it.

What can be broken?

Most often, the multicooker fails due to contamination of contacts, ingress of liquid and food particles inside the device. This can be eliminated by disassembling the appliance and removing the foreign elements.

WARNING! Failure can be due to failure of the control system, power, circuitry of the device. It is not easy to make repairs by oneself, especially if the internal parts are affected. It is advisable to apply to the service center where you can get help in repairing the multicooker.

If the repair is carried out by your own hand, then you need to familiarize yourself with some nuances.

Cleaning the inside

The inside of the multicooker consists of:

It is necessary to wash the internal surfaces as carefully as possible, since at the bottom there is a heating element. Before you clean your appliance, unplug it and wait for it to cool down. Then the multicooker can be washed.

Carefully wipe the heating element with a dry cloth. If there is grease or food stuck to it, it is necessary to wet a napkin, remove the remains of food, and then wipe the bottom dry so as not to cause the appearance of pathogenic bacteria.

To wash the inside of the multicooker will help common baking soda. You need to dissolve it in water, then soak a rag in this mixture and clean the walls and bottom. After that, you need to dry the device for 2-3 days.

The most used element of the multicooker is the bowl. That’s why you have to clean it all the time. after each cooking. The pan is usually made of stainless steel or aluminum, and then coated with a non-stick coating. This coating reacts very badly to stress, so it is strictly forbidden to wash the bowl in the dishwasher or with hard sponges and powders.

It can be cleaned with dish gel or gentle gels, which are good at dealing with greasy surfaces without harming them. There are professional products that are designed to clean the non-stick coating. Do not be stingy, because they will cope with the task qualitatively and accurately.

Do not forget that any impact. a blow or other damage. can ruin the bowl.

Important! If the bowl of the multicooker is poorly washed, there is a high probability that the food will stick to the bottom, and the non-stick coating will deteriorate. Also, dried food leaves stains on the heating appliance, and a burning smell spreads through the kitchen every time you turn it on.

After washing, the interior parts must be dried very well to prevent corrosion, fungus and the spreading of bacteria.

Peculiarities of cleaning the inner surfaces of the multicooker

Before you clean the multicooker with one of the usual remedies, you need to familiarize yourself with the basic rules of approach:

  • The first cleaning inside the appliance must be done immediately after purchasing it. You need a soft cloth and warm water for this. If there are foreign odors, you will need to use additional neutral detergents.
  • A complete treatment of the appliance should be performed after each use. It is necessary to clean the traces of grease not only inside the bowl, but also from the heating element, lid, moisture collector.
  • Treatment is carried out only after the product is completely cooled.
  • It is strictly forbidden to use hard brushes and abrasives.
  • If ingredients start to stick during cooking, this may indicate poor cleaning of the bottom and walls or a breach in the integrity of the non-stick layer. In this case, you need to wash the inside of the multicooker with special care and call for repair, if the manipulation did not give the desired changes.
  • Drying the product is not less important than its thorough cleaning. The appliance must not be closed or put away until the slightest traces of moisture have been removed. Otherwise, the elements inside the multicooker will be infested with mold.

These are only basic recommendations for operating the household appliance. In addition to these there are many other nuances and specific features.

Clean the bottom of the multicooker

In the container in which the bowl is installed, during cooking may fall into the leftovers. Therefore, before putting it in place, it is necessary to wash the bottom of the multicooker, removing crumbs. Then wipe the walls with a damp cloth. When finished, wipe dry to prevent the appearance of fungus.

The heating element should be kept clean. To remove grease and soot, you can use baking soda. To do this, you should dip a damp cloth in baking soda and wipe the heating element with it. Finish cleaning by wiping dry with a clean cloth.

How to clean the body and lid of the multicooker

Thinking about whether you can wash the multicooker completely under the faucet, it is enough to remember that it is an electrical appliance that runs from the mains. Immersion in water is fraught with imminent damage to the household appliance. Switching it on after such a wash will create a danger to life and health.

Clean the elements of the multicooker separately.

How to clean the case

In the process of cooking the outer side of the body is not involved, but the drops of fat from the stove or food particles and dust can settle on it. It’s best to wash them off immediately with a cloth or sponge dampened with lukewarm water.

If the grease has had time to dry, add a drop of dish detergent to a damp sponge and foam the dirt. Remove residue with a semi-dry cloth, rinse several times and repeat the procedure.

To remove very old stains it is acceptable to use a universal kitchen spray. Spray a small amount on the body or use locally. After wiping several times with a moistened sponge.

Dry the washed case of the multicooker with a soft towel.

How to clean the lid

When the lid of the appliance is removable, there will be no problems with it. Procedure:

  • Detach the lid, remove the inner disc from it and take out the steam valve;
  • Rinse the lid with hot water and dish detergent and rinse;
  • Wipe and dry it thoroughly;
  • clean the rest of the parts;
  • After all the elements have dried, assemble the lid and place it on the appliance.

The non-removable lid is cleaned in two steps:

  • Pour a glass of water into the bowl, adding 2-3 lemon slices to it. Set the “Steam” mode and turn it on for 10-15 minutes. After draining the water and remove the bowl from the appliance. Wait for it to cool.
  • Wrap the body of the multicooker in cellophane wrap or bag, leaving the lid outside. Wipe the lid with a damp cloth and dishwashing liquid, rinse with a half-dry sponge, wipe with a towel.

Tip. For convenience when washing the non-removable lid, put the multicooker on its side or lean forward.

How to wash your multicooker

The appliance is a complex construction. And each part needs a special approach. Many people make the mistake of thinking that it is necessary to wash only the bowl. In order to ensure that the multicooker retains its appearance and does not lose functionality, all parts of the device must be washed.

General principles, sequence

  • The lid. Some models are equipped with a fixed lid. But in most devices this part is removable. It does not have to be washed after each cooking. But since this part is more exposed to pressure and direct contact with the food, it is recommended to clean it after each cooking of food that has a specific smell. For example, fish dishes. It should also be noted that the lid has a silicone gasket, which also needs to be washed.
  • The housing. It is wrong to think that you wash only the outside of the lid. The inside also needs regular care. As a rule, the housing should be cleaned as soon as it becomes dirty.
  • Heating element (heating element). You should pay special attention to this part of the appliance. It definitely needs to be washed just like the other parts. Do not clean the heating element under a stream of water and very wet sponge. You should also avoid heavy pressure. Any grease that gets on the heating element should be removed immediately to prevent it from damaging the element in the future.
  • Bowl. This part should be washed after each cooking. Depending on the material used for the pan, it is acceptable to wash the pan in the dishwasher.
  • Moisture trap. This element should also be washed after each use of the multicooker. It should be disconnected, remove the water and rinse with clean water.

The main rule for all parts is to dry them thoroughly after each wash.

Also, before washing, you must unplug the multicooker and be sure to let it cool down. Do not proceed to wash any part, even if the appliance is slightly warm.

What to wash with

It is known that different parts of the multicooker require different cleaning products and methods.

The bowl can be made of different materials:

  • Teflon. Very demanding material. Clean only with a soft sponge. Do not use detergents in powder form, as they cause scratches. Products containing acids, solvents or chlorine should be avoided.
  • Ceramics. Only “mild” detergents should be used for cleaning this surface. Do not use metal scrapers or rough brushes. Tools should not contain alkali and other abrasive compounds.

The outside of the lid can be cleaned with detergents. On the contrary, the interior may only be damp-cleaned. Only a microfiber or cotton cloth is suitable for cleaning.

Clean the body of the appliance with a damp sponge. The use of detergents is only permissible in the presence of grease on both the outside and the inside of the appliance.

Do not use baking soda, mustard powder and other detergents on the heating element. If there are grease stains on the surface, they can be removed with a grease-soluble detergent. After that, the heat must be wiped with a clean, damp cloth until the soapy streaks disappear. This part of the multicooker must be thoroughly dried. That is why it is not recommended to turn on the device less than one day.

Moisture trap does not need to be washed drastically. It must be rinsed regularly with clean water. You can use mild soapy solutions to prevent the appearance of old contaminants.

Features of washing the multicooker with a non-removable lid

Non-removable lid is a little more difficult to clean. You will have to be dexterous to wash the rubberized parts inside the lid. The process can be facilitated, using a certain method. Add a liter of water and lemon juice to the bowl of the multicooker. Then set the “steam” mode and wait for 20-25 minutes. It should be noted that in this way you can remove not only grease and scale on the lid, but also get rid of the unpleasant “aroma”. Next, it is necessary to carry out a not quite comfortable procedure. It is necessary to wrap the body in a bag so that the lid remains on the outside. Leaning the multicooker over the sink, all grease is washed and condensation is removed. Make sure that the water does not touch the opening nodes. The lid can be cleaned using mild detergents and not hard sponges. Do not allow water to get inside the multicooker or on the body.

Very often the main accumulation of grease and dirt is located just under the silicone gaskets on the lid of the multicooker. To wash these elements, you need to disassemble the lid and take out the seals. They should not be stretched when washing as this could cause deformation. The gaskets can be previously soaked in a mild soap solution. Then wash them using detergent and a sponge. Once the grease is removed, they need to dry well before putting them back in place. Never dry silicone with a hair dryer or on heating radiators. This will also result in deformation.

How to get rid of dirt and grease

Contaminated heating element

The multicooker must be cleaned of dirt and grease immediately after cooking. It must not be left soiled and wet. It is important to clean all parts. Without knowing some rules, you can significantly reduce the life of the.

  • the lid is washed after each use, there is always condensation on it
  • The pan should be cleaned according to the regulations for cleaning, depending on the material. Do not leave it wet or damp;
  • The base and walls can also be cleaned. It is not allowed to pour water inside. This must be done constantly and carefully;
  • The heating element is not cleaned every time after cooking. But pay attention;
  • The valve can be removed and does not need any special detergents. It needs to be cleaned constantly;
  • The moisture tray is easy to clean. It is better to do it all the time. It still needs to be removed after cooking.

How to wash a multicooker from the grease inside should be known by each owner of the device. This will help maintain serviceability and extend service life. Pay attention to all parts. It is important to be careful when cleaning the interior.

Debris

Usually scale is formed at the bottom of the multicooker under the bowl. To get rid of cinders:

  • Wipe the bottom with a damp cloth.
  • Fill the surface with baking soda.
  • Allow the substance to set for 15 minutes.
  • Remove excess baking soda and carbon deposits with a damp, soft cloth so as not to scratch the finish.
  • Wipe the bottom of the bowl with a dry rag.

From limescale

Citric acid or vinegar can help remove scale from the bowl. It is important to start the fight at the first appearance of scale, rather than waiting until the scale completely covers the bowl.

Pour 1 liter of water into the bowl and add 1 tbsp. Spoonful of vinegar or citric acid. Turn on the steam cooking mode for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water and wipe the pan with a dry cloth.

Wipe the internal and external parts of the multicooker, on which a fouling has formed, with a solution of baking soda. Hold the mixture on the surface for 10-15 minutes, then wipe it off with a damp cloth.

From Mold

If after washing the bowl and lid of the multicooker have not been dried sufficiently, mold fungi may appear in areas of excess moisture. Use baking soda to remove dirt and disinfect the surface. To do this:

  • Fill the bowl with water to the maximum level.
  • Dissolve a small amount of baking soda in the water.
  • Set the soup mode or any other program to bring the water to a boil.
  • Wait until the appliance has stopped operating and then rinse the pan.
  • Wipe all surfaces with a dry cloth.

Teflon Bowl

To preserve the properties of the Teflon coating, protect it from scratches. Do not use hard sponges, scrape away stuck food with a metal object, scrub the surface heavily and for a long time.

If the dirt does not wash off the first time, it is soaked in warm water with a mild detergent. After half an hour, dried or burnt food loosely separates from the sides.

Please note! rapid temperature changes contribute to the appearance of microcracks in the Teflon coating. Do not leave the bowl on hot surfaces when you pour cold water into it. Wait until the container cools down on its own before washing it. To speed up the process, take it out of the multicooker.

Ceramic Bowl

Cracks and splits, if they occur, particularly affect the properties of the ceramic coating of the pan. Do not drop the container, place or throw heavy objects, crockery, cutlery, or utensils inside. Also, you should never rub and scrape the ceramic.

The cooker, cleaned with soda or powder remedy, may lose its non-stick properties. Even the mildest abrasives will leave microcracks on the surface.

What not to use?

Particular care and caution should be exercised when washing nonstick coating. If scratches are left in the bowl, food will start to stick, creating an unpleasant smell. The quality of dishes cooked in the multicooker will deteriorate.

Metal scrapers, brushes, and sponges

To remove stale dirt, it is not necessary to use metal brushes and sponges, they can leave scratches and damage the surface.

Aggressive detergents

Aggressive detergents are generally toxic. It is not safe for your health to clean the appliance in which you cook. The smallest chemical particles can remain in the pan and get into the food. Also, household detergents containing chlorine can attack non-stick coatings.

Traditional remedies

If you deliberately avoid household cleaners, or no suitable products are on hand, there are plenty of ways to remove grease marks. You probably have baking soda or vinegar in the kitchen and a simple dish soap in the bathroom. All remedies remove yellow grease marks easily. For more effective cleaning, take a hard sponge or brush with a lint. Do not use wire whiskers, they can scratch the surface severely.

Laundry soap

Laundry soap is a good way to get rid of grease traces. Lather it on a sponge and go over the surface of the lid with the hard side. You can leave the lid in the soapy solution for 10-15 minutes, then scrub again and rinse repeatedly with clean water. For greater effectiveness, add a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid to the soap. The grease and odor from it will disappear at once. After cleaning, wipe the lid dry with a cloth, the appliance can be used immediately.

How to clean with water and lemon

If the dirt on the lid of the multicooker has recently appeared, it can easily be removed. Pour water into a glass cup and squeeze the juice of a lemon into it, stir. Then place the dish in the multicooker cup and turn on the “steam cooking” mode. Heating should be low for 5-7 minutes. Then open the lid, take out the water carefully, the cup is hot. The citric acid along with the steam will make the grease more malleable, so it is easy to wipe off with a damp cloth. A diluted lemon juice or citric acid solution can be used for rubbing. Dilute in a glass of water half a lemon juice or 1/2 tsp.л. acid, moisten the cloth and wipe the lid.

Vinegar

Vinegar is great for removing not only grease marks, but also the unpleasant smell after cooking. Dilute tbsp.л. soak a cloth in a liter of water, moisten the solution and wipe the lid. In case the soiling is old, put a glass of water in the bowl of the multicooker and pour ch.л. vinegar. Turn on the “steam cooking” mode. The vinegar will evaporate and help remove grease from the surface of the lid. When you’re done, simply wipe the surface dry with a microfiber cloth.

Warning! Use apple cider vinegar, it has a less pungent smell than other types.

The substance is not only used in cooking, but also helps get rid of grease. Dilute a couple of tbsp (0.3 oz) of water in 20 ml to 30 ml of water.л. baking soda to make a liquid paste. Scrub the soiled area with the paste and rub in with a sponge until the yellow stains have disappeared. Leave the baking soda on the surface for 5-10 minutes, then wipe off the powder residue with a damp cloth and wipe dry with a paper towel. Use salt instead of baking soda or half-and-half with baking soda.

If fresh dirt has not yet set firmly into the fabric, you can try removing it with steam. Pour water into the multicooker cup, no more than half a liter and turn on the “Steam cooking” mode. Let the appliance run for 10-15 minutes with the lid closed. When the time is up, the fat will become soft and easy to remove, so pick up the remains with a simple cloth moistened with water.

Fact! If you steam clean your multicooker after each meal, you won’t have to wash it in the future.

Clean the bottom and the heating element

The heating element, located on the inner surface of the bottom of the appliance, must be kept clean. Initially, do not allow water to leak under the bowl and fall pieces of food.

If food does get on the disk, try to clean it with a baking soda solution:

  • Mix 1 large spoon of baking soda with a glass of water and wait for the crystals to dissolve.
  • Moisten a soft sponge with solution, squeeze thoroughly, and wipe the heater.
  • Repeat the procedure several times until the water is completely clean.
  • Wipe the part dry with a soft cloth and leave the multicooker open to let the moisture evaporate completely.

If you use the device carefully, a dry cleaning will be sufficient. Simply wipe off the crumbs with a slightly damp cloth and wipe dry.

For cleaning, it is also allowed to use a soapy solution made on the basis of dishwashing gel. dip a cloth in it and wipe.

Important! Never put the body under running water. The bottom of the multicooker is not airtight, so you will simply flood the wires and electronics and the appliance will fail.

How to clean the lid?

The lid of the multicooker is in close contact with the food being cooked. Consists of a steam valve, a surface and a rubber seal. To properly clean the lid, the elements must be separated.

Removable

All removable elements of the multicooker are washed separately, cleaned of stale dirt, rinsed thoroughly, wiped dry and assembled.

With non-removable lid

To wash a non-removable lid, follow these steps:

  • Wrap the body of the multicooker with plastic wrap, making sure there are no gaps.
  • Tilt the appliance.
  • Wash the lid with a soapy sponge.
  • Wipe with a damp, clean cloth and then with a dry cloth.
  • Do not remove the plastic wrap until you are sure that the lid is completely dry.

Taking care of the removable lid

After cooking it is completely removed and disassembled. It is necessary to thoroughly wash the steam valve, the rubber seal, which has a habit of absorbing all odors and the actual construction of the lid. Clean the valve periodically under running water. It is necessary to ensure that its holes are not clogged. If the valve is clogged, milk and milk porridge will constantly “run away.

Cleaning the heating element

It is important to know how to clean the heating element in the multicooker, because impurities immediately stick to it. It can be cleaned in the same way as the inside of the appliance.

If the suggested recipes don’t help, try the following steps:

  • Lightly moisten the dirt with a sponge;
  • Sprinkle it with baking soda;
  • After 10 minutes, wipe off the burnt-on dirt;
  • Remove the remains with a damp cloth and wipe dry afterwards.

Important! All sponges, rags and cloths used should be semi-dry. Do not allow the heating element to come into contact with water.

How to wash the steam valve

Contamination can also get into the steam valve. This part is important not only for steam extraction, but also for maintaining the necessary pressure during cooking.

Blocked valve openings will cause a disturbance in the cooking program, food may escape, and the appliance will have to work harder.

A valve that is detached from the lid is washed under hot water. If there is grease on it, it is enough to clean it with a sponge and dishwashing liquid.

Please note! Many steam valves have removable rubber seals, but there are also non-detachable models. By exerting force when trying to remove, the valve elements can be stretched or torn. If you could not disassemble the part at the first attempt, it is better to wash it assembled.

Methods of cleaning the lid of the multicooker?

Multicookers can have removable or non-removable lids. Care for it is chosen depending on the modification of the device.

With removable lid

Wash the lid, which is completely removable from the body, after each use of the multicooker. Before washing, disassemble it into its component parts: the inner disc, steam valve and rubber seal.

  • Rinse steam valve under running warm water. It is not necessary to do this every time, it is enough to make sure that its holes are not clogged.
  • Pay special attention to cleaning the rubber seal because it absorbs too much odor.
  • Wash the inner disc with a soapy sponge and rinse.
  • After the procedure, be sure to dry all parts before reassembling the cover.

With a non-removable lid

To clean the non-removable lid, follow these steps:

  • Wrap the body of the multicooker with polyethylene, making sure there are no gaps.
  • Tilt the appliance.
  • Wash the lid with a soapy sponge.
  • Wipe with a damp, clean cloth and then with a dry one.
  • Remove the polyethylene when you are sure the lid is completely dry.

How to clean the bowl of the multicooker?

The main rule of washing the bowl. do not use metal and hard sponges or abrasives, and clean very carefully.

From burnt food

If the pan is burnt, never use abrasives or a hard brush to clean it.

To clean the bowl, fill it with lukewarm water and add 1 capful of Sif. Leave the bowl to soak for 1-2 hours, and then remove the excess dirt with a sponge.

You can also avoid burnt food if you follow these simple recommendations:

  • Properly set the temperature mode, do not exceed the maximum set by the program;
  • Wash the bowl after each use;
  • Make sure that the valves are not clogged;
  • Do not pour more than the permitted volume into the container.

Do not get grease

Use a dishwashing detergent to remove grease stains. Wipe the interior and exterior of the multicooker with a soapy sponge, then rinse with water. In the final step, wipe all parts of the appliance dry.

From carbon deposits

Carbon deposits are usually found at the bottom of the multicooker under the bowl. To get rid of cinders:

  • Wipe the bottom with a damp cloth.
  • Fill the surface with baking soda.
  • Leave the product on for about 15 minutes.
  • Wipe off excess baking soda and carbon deposits with a damp, soft cloth so as not to scratch the coating.
  • Wipe the bottom with a dry cloth.

Remove any encrustations

Citric acid or vinegar will help if scale has appeared on the surface of the bowl. It is important to begin the fight at the first appearance of scale, rather than waiting until the scale completely covers the bowl.

Pour 1 liter of water into the pan and add 1 tbsp (0.6 oz) of water. spoonful of vinegar or citric acid. Turn on the steam mode for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water and wipe the bowl with a dry cloth.

Clean the inside and outside of the multicooker with the baking soda solution. Hold the mixture on the surface for 10-15 minutes, and then wipe with a damp cloth.

Against mold

If after washing the bowl and lid of the multicooker have not been dried sufficiently, in places of excess moisture, mold fungi can appear. To remove dirt and disinfect the surface, use ordinary baking soda. To do this:

  • Fill the bowl with water to the maximum level.
  • Dissolve a small amount of baking soda in water.
  • Set the soup mode or any other program to boil the water.
  • Wait for the appliance to finish and rinse the bowl.
  • Wipe all surfaces with a dry cloth.

Deny odors

You can cook any dish in the multicooker. fish, meat, porridge, pies, soups. But after eating, there are always odors that are difficult to remove with an ordinary detergent.

All the flavor accumulates in the rubber seals, which over time are stretched, so experts recommend keeping in stock a few more of these parts.

Ways to get rid of odor in the multicooker at home:

  • Vinegar will help remove the smell from fish. Pour a liter and a half of water into the pre-cleaned bowl and mix it with two tablespoons of vinegar. Turn on the steaming mode and wait a few minutes. After that, rinse the container and wipe dry.
  • How to remove the smell from the multicooker? If there is an odor of plastic, then use citric acid. Pour a liter of water in a bowl and put a spoonful of powder. Put it on for half an hour. After that the bowl should be rinsed.
  • How to get rid of the unpleasant smell in the multicooker, if the food constantly burns? Grain or ground coffee, a natural adsorbent, will help with this problem. If the surface smells from the outside or inside, fill the bottom of the bowl with coffee and leave it overnight, remove it in the morning. After that, wipe the inside and outside walls of the appliance.
  • If the surface inside smells, then you can remove the smell with salt and baking soda, take the components in equal proportions, pour them into the bowl and fill with water. Leave it on for some time. After the fragrances have disappeared, rinse off the remains under running water.

Do not use hard brushes on the walls of the appliance to avoid ruining the coating. Wash the container only with a soft sponge and quality detergent.

If the food always burns badly, it means that the container was not cleaned properly and it is necessary to change the bowl.

Safety instructions

These precautions apply to any brand of multicooker, whether it is Redmond, Polaris, it does not matter.

The first step is to find out what detergents to use at home.

  • Never use abrasive scouring powders or pastes.
  • Choose sponges or wipes with the lowest hardness.
  • The body of the multicooker can only be cleaned with warm water and dishwashing gel, no solvents (!), even the gentlest.

These three little rules will keep your machine from premature scratches and damage.
