Bosch dishwasher

It should be noted that the owners of Bosch dishwashers are the lucky ones. As the manufacturer has taken care of completing the device with special nozzles for washing large-sized flat items. To wash a tray or hood filter in the dishwasher, you need to position the dirty items correctly in the unit’s tank. It is recommended to place the trays on the sides of the basket in an upright position.

How to Load A Dishwasher! (Clean My Space)

For quality rinsing detergent, on the back wall of the unit there is a special place for fixing the rinse nozzle. The nozzle is a water sprayer in the form of a shower. This nozzle must be installed before loading the dirty dishes. After placing the trays in the Bosch dishwasher tank, do not forget to fill the compartment with detergent.

Next, how to wash a tray in the dishwasher? After loading the dirty items, detergent and installing a special water spray nozzle, you can start the unit. Usually there is no difficulty with program selection and start-up. If you have any questions, it is advisable to consult the Bosch instructions for use.

What happens to the appliance?

Some dishwasher owners use their “home helpers” to the fullest. It’s even amazing how they can think of such a thing. Washing in the dishwasher:

  • garden tools;
  • rubber boots;
  • raw root vegetables (mostly potatoes and carrots);
  • plastic massage aids;
  • chandelier parts;
  • elbow pads and kneepads;
  • boxing gloves and mouth guards;
  • Helmets and leather gloves;
  • umbrellas;
  • flower pots and more.

Lovers of the exotic even manage to cook food in the dishwasher.

If one thinks of cooking in the dishwasher, then why condemn those who think of shoving electrical appliances, in this case an electric kettle, into the washing chamber. From the experts’ point of view, it should never be done. There is some electrical stuff inside the kettle: a switch, an LED, some contacts, wires, a sensor. By washing the kettle in the dishwasher, we’re getting that electrics very wet.

Proponents of non-standard dishwasher use may reasonably note that the kettle can be thoroughly dried before use. This is true, but while washing the dishes, the kettle stays in a humid and warm environment for a long time. Metal contacts under the influence of moisture and detergents are covered by oxides, thanks to which the kettle can fail.

Moisture can be removed by drying, but oxides can be removed only by contact cleaning. If there is a possibility to disassemble the kettle after washing, to clean its contacts and to carry out anti-corrosion treatment, then it is possible to wash it. But if you do not plan to take the kettle apart, it is better not to stick it in the dishwasher.

If the kettle body is made of plastic or ceramic it is one thing, but if the kettle is made of metal, then the corrosion can affect the body. In this case, there is a great risk of losing the kettle. Do not take risks, clean the kettles by hand.

What’s the best way to clean a kettle??

Many housewives say that the best way to clean the kettle from various internal impurities, including scale is boiling with citric acid. It’s very easy to do. Pour water into the dirty kettle from the inside (it is necessary to pour almost a full kettle). Next, we pour 25 grams of citric acid in the water and bring 2-3 times to a boil. The dirt will come off at once, but the scale will become brittle and will partially descend. Remove the remains of scale with a rag, on which you need to pour a little lemon juice and get the cleanest kettle.

How to fix the situation?

If the mishap has already happened it does not always mean that the dishes must be thrown away. To begin with it is necessary to soberly assess the “scale of the disaster”. In many cases, the affected dishes can be helped by preparing them for further use and returning the original shine.

If the washing took place at a not very high temperature and with a small amount of detergent, the damage will likely be made up for. And vice versa: the higher the temperature and more detergent, the harder it will be to fix the situation (and sometimes it is not possible at all).

So, to begin with, you can try a gentle method: wash the affected object first with a strong vinegar solution, and then. with a solution of baking soda. If this does not help, you will have to resort to the help of special household chemicals.

Do not follow your grandmother’s “good old tried and tested” recipe, which prescribes boiling aluminum pots or pans with detergent and baking soda for brightening. You’ll only end up ruining everything.

What can be used to treat blackened aluminium?? There are several remedies that make sense to try:

wash, tray, dishwasher
  • GOI. Put it on a piece of felt and polish the aluminium surface.
  • Dialux. That, too, is a polishing paste that can cope with the blackening of soft metal.
  • HORS. This is a car rust remedy, which can be called “heavy artillery”. That is, you should resort to its help, when the previous methods failed. First treat the spoiled item with HORS, and then polish with any of the above pastes.

Dishwasher or handwashing?

Washing large dishes that don’t easily fit in the sink is less than average fun. To get rid of a layer of burned grease by hand means long scrubbing the tray, wasting time and effort and gradually damaging the non-stick coating.

  • Do not devote precious time and energy to painfully scrubbing away the dirt;
  • getting dishes perfectly clean;
  • Do not damage the non-stick coating.

Dishwasher cleans trays without mechanical action. Plastic scrapers and brushes are a completely different matter.

The downside of dishwasher cleaning is that it’s more time-consuming than washing by hand. So if the pan needs to be cleaned urgently, you’ll have to do it with a brush or scraper.

Eliminating grease, mold, rust and limescale

Improper operation of electric appliance may cause mold on the inner and outer parts of the machine.

TIP ! To prevent this mishap, always wipe the oven interior with a dry cloth after each use and keep the door ajar.

Vinegar and baking soda

The following method will help you remove grease, mold, limescale, or rust from the walls, drain, and other parts of the device:

  • Pour 200 ml of vinegar into the dispenser;
  • Sprinkle an even layer of baking soda on the bottom of the machine;
  • turn on the appliance by setting the long washing mode;
  • After heating water in the machine, press the pause button and leave the machine for half an hour (if the device is heavily soiled. it is acceptable to leave it overnight);
  • When the specified time has elapsed, restart the appliance.

IMPORTANT! The appliance must be empty and without dishes during this procedure.

Bleach

This remedy can be used no more than once every six months:

  • Remove the dishes from the unit;
  • Pour a glass of bleach into the receiving tray;
  • Turn the oven on using the maximum heat setting;
  • At the end of the cycle, run another wash without adding any cleaner.

Special products

Some of the most effective special detergents for cleaning the dishwasher are

  • Finish Machine Cleaner is a liquid product in a flat plastic bottle. The product consists of layers of two colors: blue is designed to remove grease, white is for limescale. To use it is simple: unscrew the lid (do not remove the protective label), put the bottle upside down in the lower compartment of the machine, turn the device on, setting the washing mode at a temperature of at least 65 ⁰C.
  • Filtero is a detergent for cleaning limescale and grease deposits on the internal parts of the appliance: pour the liquid into the dispenser, turn on the appliance for 45-90 minutes at high temperature.
  • Finish Rinse. a detergent from the Japanese manufacturer. It has a concentrated composition, effectively removes limescale from the heater and other elements of the dishwasher, extends the life of the appliance, neutralizes odors and cope with small clogs.

IMPORTANT! After using any special agents, restart the machine without adding detergents. This procedure will ensure complete removal of all remaining chemical particles.

Can I wash trays in the dishwasher?

Housewives who have recently acquired a “home helper” wonder if it is possible to wash the tray in the dishwasher. Actually there is no problem here. If the size of the washing chamber allows you to fit a tray, you can wash it without any difficulty. Some dishwasher manufacturers even include special attachments for washing trays and large pans, so you shouldn’t be afraid to wash them in the machine. Plastic dishwashing must be done correctly in all cases. How? We will tell you about that in a moment.

Dishwasher Stop List (DSM)

Regardless of the material, you should never wash dishes with stickers. Under the influence of water and temperature, these pieces of paper will “come off” the surface and into the filters. The result is a dishwasher breakdown.

Wood

Wood and water are not compatible materials. First the wood will swell up from excess moisture, then it will crack and dry out from the hot drying process. And all of our spatulas, cutting boards and racks will become unusable.

Plastic

Plastic objects require special attention. There are several kinds of plastic with different characteristics and properties. The key is the melting point of the plastic. For example, dishes from polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for food can be washed in MS, but those from polystyrene (PS) or PVC (PVC) are categorically prohibited. at high temperatures the melting starts. Simply speaking, plastic dishes intended for disposable use are not suitable for washing in the PM.

Aluminum

Almost every kitchen is sure to have an aluminum ladle or pot. And, it would seem, what would happen if we send such dishes to our machine?

Aluminum and silver are the most harmful metals for which the household detergent is used. The material begins to darken and become encrusted. After a long time of exposure to water, aluminum cookware emits ions, “staining” the PM with a metallic deposit, which can lead to breakage of the PM. Copper items will have dark spots that can only be removed by polishing.

Crystal and Faure

Thin crystal also doesn’t survive a date with the dishwasher. At best, you get scratched products, and at worst, they crack and fall apart. But faora should not be put in the dishwasher only under certain conditions: if the product has golden elements or if the pattern is applied over the glaze. But, as a rule, manufacturers put the right mark on the bottom.

Cast iron

Many people think that cast iron utensils are easy to care for.

Never put cast iron pans and pans in the dishwasher! The chemical elements in the PM tablets react with the metal, thus damaging it. They corrode the metal, and the drying process creates microcracks where the alkalis from the dishwasher clog up. Cookware starts to rust and lose its appearance.

Silver

The reason why silverware can “not survive” dishwashing is because of the detergents used in the dishwasher. Tablets and powders contain a sufficiently large number of components which react with the metal. The result is spoiled silverware covered with dark stain that is almost impossible to remove. The situation is much more unpleasant with silver dishes and plates. After two or three washes they will show signs of oxidation. No amount of cleaning agents can help the dishes.

Teflon

Frying pans, pots, pans from the multicooker, all having an antigrease coating, after several washes in the oven will lose their properties. Under the influence of household remedies and temperatures the antigar layer becomes thin.

In theory, knives are safe to use in PM. In practice, be prepared to re-sharpen them each time, because after washing the knives are dulled. This includes cutters and any other items used for cutting food. They can not only get blunt, but also scratch the inner walls of the PM. Washing them in a Dishwasher will not have the expected effect. Smaller nicks and crannies leave behind food particles which are better removed by hand.

Thermoses

Sending the thermos into the dishwasher is the same as throwing it in the trash. Not only will you ruin the insulating material, but you will also get an unpleasant “aroma” from stale water.

Never put pots and pans with a thick layer of grease or burnt-on food in the dishwasher. Firstly, they will not wash out, and secondly, the drain of the dishwasher will become blocked.

So, if you do not want to stay without utensils, DO NOT send them to the PM:

  • Wooden spatulas, cutting boards, spoons, coasters
  • Plastic dishes are not designed to be reusable
  • Cast iron, copper, aluminum, and silverware
  • Antigraining pots and pans
  • Crystal and Faure without glaze
  • Thermoses and pots for multicookers
  • Cutters, garlic peelers, knives

What to do if you wash the meat grinder in the dishwasher?

Do not send the multi-food grinder to the dishwasher, especially if you are not sure what metals it is made of. But if you have already made such a mistake and the meat grinder is blackened. do not worry. The old tried-and-true baking soda comes to the rescue. If it also proves powerless, metal polishing paste will help you restore the grinder to its original state.

How the washing process works?

Knowing the principle of the dishwasher, it is easier to understand what items can be washed in it. The stages of the process:

  • Program start. Water. cold or hot. flows into the chamber.
  • The maximum water temperature is 70 °C.
  • Detergent comes from the dispenser. powder, gel or soluble tablet.
  • The water in the tank gets into the sprinklers, which, rotating, wash the objects.
  • The circulation of water continues for a program-set time.
  • Dirty water goes down the drain when the main wash cycle is over. clean water goes into the tank. rinsing begins.
  • The latest PMs have gentle cycles that operate at low water temperatures and are used for lightly soiled dishes.

It is clear that with this approach, you can’t wash bad dirt. stale, with carbon deposits. even in a few hours. A dirty pot with a burnt stew or porridge is unlikely to wash in the dishwasher. you have to work with a sieve or brush, using abrasive chemicals.
